Record SaaS M&A Activity Predicted for 2018

By May 17, 2018Article

It appears 2018 will be another record-setting year for SaaS M&A activity, according to Software Equity Group’s new report.

Through April, there were 287 SaaS M&A transactions. That compares to 831 SaaS M&A transactions in all of 2017. What’s more, median EV/Revenue multiples are holding near historic highs (4.4x TTM revenue in 1Q18). No surprise, vertically focused SaaS sellers are playing a significant role, accounting for nearly 42% of all SaaS transactions year-to-date.

The data lead SEG to expect aggregate SaaS M&A volume to approach 900 transactions during 2018 – the biggest year ever for the sector.
